The Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Framework states that "Patient involvement is core to good practice and should not be considered optional", reflecting involvement as a statutory requirement. We want to ensure that involvement is meaningful because, when it is, everyone benefits; service users, service providers, and commissioners. Patient involvement improves the health of those involved, the range and quality of services, and can lead to cost savings.
