The coronavirus outbreak is changing life as we know it. Our NHS is under intense pressure.

That’s why we launched the HIV Scotland Coronavirus Helpline (10am – 6pm, Monday to Friday, 0131 558 3713) and minisite to keep people informed, provide immediate advice, help and support. We have worked with doctors, experts and other organisations to support people living with, and at risk of HIV.

In the first week our helpline has supported over 100 people, alongside reaching over 100,000 people on social media with our advice on HIV, PrEP & Sex during COVID-19.

Our rapid response to coronavirus, and the additional support we’re providing to people, has been done without any additional funding. Funding for charities is precarious, and we’re feeling the effect already from venues being closed and associated fundraising events being cancelled.

We are living in unprecedented times, and therefore we are asking for your support. You can help us. By making a one off donation, or setting up a direct debit, you can help us to continue our hard work.

Your gift will help enable our small team to support the increasing number of people living with HIV who are coming to us with their coronavirus-related concerns. The changing guidance from the Government has understandably left many distressed, confused and uncertain as to where they stand. We're here to bust the troubling myths around COVID-19 and HIV, and to disseminate the facts. We also have a bank of volunteers who have kindly offered to assist those self-isolating with supply shopping should they need it, or to provide a ear over the phone for those feeling alone.
