Background

She began her career as a nurse gaining extensive experience in many areas including Haematology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Bone Marrow Transplant, HIV and AIDS and Sexual Health eventually specialising in Oncology and End of Life Care.

She retrained as a counsellor and psychotherapist and for over 25 years has worked in the NHS as well as the charitable sector and private practice.

For the last 13 years she has worked as the Parent Counsellor with Place2Be, the UK’s largest children’s mental health charity. She is passionate about all areas of inclusion and equality and is the LGBT Champion for Place2Be in Edinburgh.

Mary is a psychotherapist and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
